Story Sent in by Mira:
Nick took me to a local art museum. It wasn't too extensive but the exhibits were really good. On one pedestal, there was a little blue glass sculpture of a corgi. I grew up with corgis and loved it.
When we left the museum I asked Nick where he wanted to go for lunch. In reply he reached into his coat and pulled out the corgi sculpture! It didn't say much for Nick, but it might have said even less for the museum's crack security team. I yelled myself silly, telling Nick to take it back.
"Then they'll know I took it," was his excuse.
I grabbed it from him, stormed inside the museum, told the attendant that my stupid date had taken it, and I apologized profusely.
When I came back outside, Nick was gone.

Nick has nothing on Homer Simpson stealing the Gummi Venus De Milo.
ReplyDeleteWere you watching FXX last night too?? Damn Simpsons marathons five days a week, I waste perfectly good TV watching time...
DeleteI didn't watch the marathon because baseball and basketball was on last night. But everything in life reminds me of things I learned from watching tv.I too enjoy finely crafted gummis.
DeleteAt least he stoke something worthwhile and not unactivated shop gift cards.
ReplyDeleteYou try to do one nice thing for a girl: steal a sculpture, make her a wig out of human hair after she doesn't like her haircut and dye job and is like all "my hair is too short and I was really hoping that they would dye it chestnut, know?" so you go to the right part of town and pin down a woman with unwashed long hair (that works best for wigs (I read it on the internet)) and . . . well anyway the point is there is no pleasing women.

DeleteHe watched way too many episodes of How I Met Your Mother.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of ghetto-@$$ museum has a blue glass Corgi sculpture as an exhibit? And allows people to just steal the stuff? Is this a roadside attraction in the middle of nowhere?
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw this, I was like, "Hey! Yeah! Steve's sort of right! I should google this s#it!" I thought maybe it has something to do with New Orleans' famous blue dog or something along those lines. But no. No, what came up was so, so much better (to me).
DeleteI might have to buy it.
*injures hand trying to get to wallet fast enough*
DeleteWell, that's day one covered for everyone.
DeleteI'm waiting for whimsical Briana thoughts on this...
ReplyDelete"Whimsical," eh? You're very kind.
DeleteEvery story of the date stealing the OP ALWAYS returns to bring the item back. I feel like I am the only one that would keep the item or leave it there. I am not a goody-two shoes for one but I also think it looks... odd. I wouldn't want to return something and then have blame placed on me for getting mixed up in it.
