Story Sent in by Bette:
Glenn and I encountered each other online and met for a first date in person at a diner. He wore a dress shirt with an interesting accoutrement: a plastic clothes hangar was sticking out of it.
I pointed it out to him and asked, "Were you in a really big hurry out the door?"
He pulled the hangar out and said, "No. I just forgot about it."
We ordered our meals. I had an omelet and he ordered steak. Halfway through his lunch he stared down at it and said, "I think this is meat."
I said, "It is. You ordered steak."
He said, "I don't eat meat," then stood up, handed me the plastic hangar, and said, "Something to remember me by in case I don't come back." He left and didn't come back. I've since used the hangar to hang up lots of clothes, though.

Don't judge, maybe he had a bad home life OP. And who knows what could have caused him to hate meat.
ReplyDeleteNo Mommy Dearest meme?Wire, plastic,it's still a clothes hanger.
DeleteBloody heck, that last pic is absolutely disturbing
DeleteIt's from Beetlejuice. He's called "Roadkill Guy" :-)
DeleteMaybe he thought he was ordering a sharpened piece of wood?
ReplyDeletetranslation: oh lord how could I have forgotten a hanger in my clothes?! nope. I can't do this I am a disgrace. *nopes out of there*
ReplyDeleteJust what I was thinking...
DeleteNo one is asking the burning question...who payed for dinner?!I'm guessing OP did but what happened to the remaining steak?I would have taken that home and nuked the bad date cooties out of it and ate it.I'm THAT girl.
DeleteI think perhaps the "hangar" was a bit of a red herring and perhaps it turned out that OP was the bad date?
ReplyDeleteHow could he not notice a hangar in his clothes? A hanger I might have understood at a push but a hangar is something large enough to house planes, so...
