Story Sent in by Charlene:
When I climbed into Tyler's car he lit a little tea light candle on the dashboard and made the sign of the cross. He said, "For my uncle, whose car this was before it was mine. I always light a candle to him before I drive anywhere."
I thought Tyler would blow it out before we moved but he didn't. Instead he jerked forward and the candle slid off and between the seats!
He shouted at me, "Oh no! No no no no no no no! Get it! Get it! Oh no! Oh no!"
He kept driving faster as I did my best to dig out the (hopefully extinguished) candle. When I found it on the floor I was relieved to find that it had gone out. Tyler took it from me and threw it into his cupholder.
After dinner we got back in his car, he took out the candle, lit it, made the sign of the cross, and zoomed off again! The candle once more slid off, almost hitting me.
Tyler screamed, "Get it! Get it! Get it! Oh no! Oh no! Oh no! No!"
I found the candle and he threw it back in the cupholder. Honestly I was more frightened of him than I was of the candle. We didn't go out a second time.

It seems to me that Tyler lives his life like a candle in the wind. However I'm guessing that the candle burns brighter then Tyler
ReplyDeleteCame here for this, was not disappointed.
DeleteBurn on you crazy Melanie, burn on.
Lol, your comments are the best, and often more entertaining than the stories themselves! <3
DeleteThat's funny because I come here for the stories...
DeleteFirst of all, we should all go out and buy stock in the tealight companies. Tyler's clearly going to make them rich.
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, why would Charlene get back in what could easily turn into a giant metal flaming death machine? I mean, maybe she likes adventure. Or maybe her candle just doesn't burn so much brighter than Tyler's.
Raise your hand if you're sure that Tyler will have a mishap with the tea candle of terror after he stops for some gas. There are two things in life that are certain...tiny tea candles of death and taxes.
DeleteTyler understands that it's better to burn out than to fade away.
ReplyDeleteI always if I had kids I'd want to get my teenager a used car. It's so scary being out with someone you are just getting to know and having to rely on them for transportation back home. I'd always give my kid money too for dates. This is so if things are going bad you don't have to feel obligated to do anything just because your date paid for dinner or whatever.
ReplyDeleteI think that moron wanted to impress her with his sensitive, spiritual side. That's why he thought of this ridiculous stuff. I doubt he'd ever done that before.
ReplyDeleteYep, you nailed it.
DeleteI think this moron knew exactly what he was doing and just enjoyed scaring the hell out of Charlene. Psychopathic tendencies I would guess.
DeleteThere was a story on here before about a girl who used a candle in her car because he dashboard bulbs burned out. They should hook up...
