He Spiked Himself?

Story Sent in by Lindsay:

At our first date dinner, Dwayne pulled out what looked like a well-loved, brown glass vial. It was filled with a cloudy liquid I couldn't begin to identify, and he poured a bit of it into his water. He then asked me, "Want some?"

"I'm good. What is it?"

He said, "Something to relax."

He stirred his water with a finger and drank down the entire glass. He shuddered for a few seconds, then sat back in a daze. When the waitress arrived to take our orders, he was slurring his words and by the time the food arrived, it was impossible to carry on a conversation with him. I wasn't sure if what he had poured in his water was an oral anesthetic, but it sure seemed that way.

"Are you okay, Dwayne?" I'd ask.

"Ahhhhmmmm... brooooooffff doooowaaahhaaa?" he'd reply.

He could barely lift his arms or use his utensils, and he finally collapsed back in the seat with a stupid grin on his face and closed his eyes.

I called his name three times, and when he didn't respond, I called the waitress over, explained the situation, and she called an ambulance. It arrived shortly thereafter, and two paramedics dragged Dwayne out and into their vehicle. It was a bit humiliating, but I was really concerned for him. I told the paramedics about the vial in his pocket and I asked them what it could've been, but they said that they couldn't tell until they had run some tests on him.

The ambulance remained there, and I guessed that meant that it wasn't serious enough to drive him to an emergency room. I felt that my job was done, and I went to pay for our meals, but the manager told me not to worry about it, and he even boxed up the food (I had lost my appetite by that point) for me. I'm very grateful to them, and to the paramedics, who I'm assuming took good care of Dwayne. I didn't stick around long enough to find out, and I didn't hear from him after that.

  1. He'd rather poison himself than go through with the date. Can't help but feel a little rejected.

  2. Like the German SS, he had a cyanide capsule sewn into his collar.

  3. @ JMG - LOL!

He slipped himself a ruffie?! Maybe he was hoping you'd take advantage of him out behind the dumpsters. This guy was a nut OP but good job with the ambulance. Kudos to the restaurant owners for boxing up your food and waiving the check!

  4. So instead of having a friend call and fake an emergency, Dwayne resorts to drugging himself to get out of bad dates? Gotta hand it to the dude, he's original.

  5. He's spending a lifetime developing an immunity to iocane powder.

  6. New poster here. Been reading some of these stories (and laughing out loud at many of them). What I can't wrap my head around is this: if this is how some of these people act in the beginning, how much worse do they get once the become "comfortable"? Lol

  9. Stacy that's true! If this is how someone acts the first hour they meet someone, can you imagine how they act around friends/family?

  10. Damnit Dwayne! When I sold you the roofies I gave you strict instructions: put it in THE OTHER PERSON'S glass! Amateur mistake, dude.

Come over to my place tonight and I will give you another tutorial. Now, I just need to find a female "volunteer"...

  13. I wonder if doooowhaaaahaaaa is "the water." Can't decipher what the first part is.

Hmmm...it says he stirred the water with his finger. Classy.

  17. I don't know why the OP found the whole thing with the ambulance humiliating. I don't think people generally get judgmental about someone having a medical emergency. Sure, people may have stared but that's because they're nosy, not because they suspected that your date went and drugged himself.

My first thought was the worst attempt at date rape ever and he thought by taking a little himself he could convince her to take some of it. Maybe that's what the OP thought too and that's why she found it humiliating?
